Heat Resistant Teflon Coated Cloth
Teflon Coated Cloth is an alternative tool of release agent during compression molding process of SMC, GMT pallet and GMT automotive parts. Teflon cloth is made from woven fiberglass impregnated with PTFE resin, the coating is heavy enough to achieve a quick release property. Teflon fiberglass withstand high temperature up to 500F, thus widely used as release film during heat pressing process.
How to use Teflon coated cloth in compression molding process
Compression molding of the thermoplastics is a high-pressure method suitable for molding SMC, PPS and many grades of PEEK, the molding material is normally preheated and placed in an open, heated mold cavity, then mold will closed, under the pressure and temperature the material cures rapidly. Our Teflon coated cloth can be applied on the pressing plate instead of release agent, it will make the mold release quickly and can be reused, also saves working and cleaning time.
Teflon coated cloth is also ideal to make into PTFE belt with an overlap joint to use for rubber extrusion process. The rubber extrusion belt is to take the rubber from the extrusion head to curing oven, this endless belt is high heat resistant and optimal release, helps to prevent semi-melted rubber from sticking to the machine.
