Water repellency means that the water on the outside of the fabric does not penetrate the fabric and is immersed in the inside. The PTFE laminated composite fabric is waterproof even under the pressure of 80 lb/m2, and wearing the fabric garment, even if it is standing in the storm, sitting on the surface of the wet, people will not feel wet. The reason why the fabric garment has such a magical function is mainly because the pore diameter of the PTFE membrane of the main body of the fabric is 1/5000-1/20000 of the diameter of the water droplet, so even the smallest raindrop cannot pass. The surface energy of PTFE is low, and water droplets cannot spread on the film to prevent water droplets from passing through.
The porosity of the PTFE film is as high as 80%, the average pore diameter is 0.2 & micro; m, the pore diameter is larger than 700 times that of water vapor molecules, and water vapor molecules can pass freely.
During the stretching process, the PTFE film forms a microporous structure in which the nodes are connected with a myriad of microfibers, and pores are formed between the microfibers, and the pores penetrate each other to form a unique network structure. The wind can't pass directly. When it encounters the barrier, it will change direction and fold back, effectively preventing the air from penetrating, so it has excellent windproof performance.
